FAQ

Q ~ Where do you get your ideas?
A ~ As strange as this might sound, I get a lot of my ideas from my dreams. I have an overactive imagination, and my mind is in constant motion, never taking a minutes rest. Inspiration can hit me at the most inopportune times. Like in the middle of listening to a sermon at church, or watching other people as we drive past them. I'm constantly making up stories about people I see, and sharing the stories with my husband as he drives. Not only does he find it amusing, but sometimes he even encourages me by trying to help me brainstorm.

Q ~ Do you use your husband to research for your love scenes?
A ~ What happens in my bedroom stays in my bedroom. I would never do that to my husband, even though he has offered.

Q ~ Do you have kids?
A ~ I have four children. Their ages range from 11 down to 3 years old. Three girls and one boy. (Yes the youngest is male ;)

Q ~ When did you start writing?
A ~ I've always written. In fact, my very first books were created when I was in fourth grade. I used wallpaper to make the covers, and then I gave them out to my neighbors. I've been writing ever since.

Q ~ What do you do to get in the mood to write if anything?
A ~ I have to have music on. It always varies from story to story which groups/singers I listen to, but I find it nearly impossible to write without music to drown out real life. I also burn candles and make sure I'm dressed comfortably to write. I usually pop a movie in the DVD player to try and catch an uninterrupted hour of writing. (The kids never last through the whole length of a movie.) I also enjoy writing challenges with friends. We set aside 30 minutes and we all write, trying to get as much on paper (or on the pc) as we can in that time. Then we try and beat our own record in the next 30 minutes.

Q ~ Do you see any of yourself in your writing?
A ~ Of course I do, but I never use myself as a model for a heroine. Sometimes I will give them one of my quirks, or one of my positive attributes because it makes it easier to write if I can 'feel'like her. My husband is not the base for my heroes either. If he was I'm sure women would line up to steal him away from me. ;)

Q ~ What is your favorite genre to read and/or write?
A ~ I love to read about vampires, my own or others. :) I also enjoy a great suspenseful mystery and fantasy story, but I hate it if I read a book that doesn't have a happy ending. I'm the kind of gal who gets enough real life everyday. Give me a nice romance and happy ending, and I'll be happy. So my stories will all have a happily ever after, and lots of romance, even if the hero OR heroine seems unwilling at first.

Q ~ Are you a romantic at heart or more realistic?
A ~ I like to think I am a bit of both, although in real life I am much more realistic. In fact, most romance movies bore me because there isn't enough action. I need more than romance to make me happy, and I try to write that way as well.

Q ~ What does your husband think about your writing?
A ~ He has always been very supportive of me. At first he was a little concerned about me writing so hot for public view, but he's grown used to the idea, and even likes to tell people about his wife, the author.

Q ~ Do you write anything other than paranormal?
A ~ I have written several stories without a paranormal. Those books I write purely for a change, because I've found I truly love writing paranormal. Anything is possible. Just believe.
